FROM: Dr. Charles Mance RE: Important Message from University Technology Services

Over the next 60 days the University Technology Services Department will be making a number of changes to the CalU computing environment which will have an effect on all users. The first series of changes affects the California University domain change from cup.edu to calu.edu.

In order to move forward with the new calu.edu domain project we must first “migrate” your domain user account (the one you use to logon to your computer and / or Outlook Web Access), your email mailbox, your University owned computer, and all servers to the new calu.edu domain.

It is important to note that extensive design reviews and testing have been conducted to reduce risk and impact to the user however there still may be issues with applications and services not supported by the university.

Additional communications will be forthcoming in the weeks ahead with key information intended to keep you informed of what is happening, when it is happening and how it affects you. Please read ALL of these announcements.

We will be using an online blog or web log to post communications as well as frequently asked questions received from the University community. Please visit this often from any Internet connected machine or device. The blog site will be hosted on blogspace.com. More details will be sent out later this week.

In addition we will be setting up a hotline where you can call to get answers to your questions as well as express any concerns you have.

Thank you for your patience and continued support during these changing times.

Best Regards

Dr. Charles A. Mance
Vice President for University Technology Services
California University of Pennsylvania
